How Early Should You Send Out Your Wedding Invitations?

When it comes to planning your dream wedding, one of the most important steps is sending out your wedding invitations. But how early should you start this process?

For luxury weddings, it’s essential to give your guests plenty of notice to ensure they can clear their schedules and make arrangements to attend your special day. Typically, sending out wedding invitations around 8-12 weeks before the big day is recommended. This gives your guests enough time to RSVP and for you to finalize all the details with your vendors.

If you’re hosting a destination wedding or have guests traveling from out of town, it’s a good idea to send out your invitations at least 12 weeks in advance. This gives your guests plenty of time to plan their trip, book accommodations, and request time off work. You want to make sure that your loved ones have ample time to make arrangements to be there on your special day.

Another factor to consider is whether you’re sending out custom wedding invitations. Bespoke wedding invitations that are personalized with venue illustrations or watercolor details may take longer to design and print. If you’re investing in custom wedding invitations, be sure to allow extra time for the design process.

At Cami Hall Design Studio, we typically like to start the process as early as possible. Most couples start the process 6 months before their wedding date. This gives me time for custom illustration, concept design, the printing process, and assembly. While much shorter timelines can definitely be accommodated, don’t rush through this process!

So, if you’re a luxury bride-to-be planning your dream wedding, remember to start the process of designing and sending out your custom wedding invitations early. It’s a small detail that can make a big difference in ensuring your special day is everything you’ve ever dreamed of. To start your process today, fill out an inquiry form here!
